Jonesville Rest Home is located in Grant County Kentucky. In the small town of Jonesville, it was once known as Nonesuch, KY before the name was changed in 1848. The original school burned in December, 1930 which consisted of one building with 3 rooms, in its place a new building with 2 rooms was built. The current building was constructed in 1941 which sets on 3.87 acres.
This building was a school from 1941 to 1966. Educating children from first grade to 8th grade. In 1968, it was converted into a Personal Care Home taking care of the mentally challenged or people that needed assistance of day to day living. The Personal care home ceased operations on September 1, 2023.
Jonesville Rest Home holds the memories of many adults and children that either resided at the home as a resident, students, employed at the School or Rest Home, townspeople, the stone jail that was located across the road, Soldiers and many others that are connected to this land.
This land contains history and tragedy.
